Frequently Asked Questions

How does tele-health work? Once we've determined we're a good fit, I'll send you an email with access to your client portal through simple practice. You have the option of joining via computer, ipad, or by downloading the simple practice app on your phone! A link to join the session will be sent to your email 10 minutes before your session is to begin.

Do you have an office or meet in person? Yes! I have an office in East Nashville that is conveniently located right by the interstate. I also offer "walk and talk" therapy in East Nashville at Shelby Park upon request! This looks like meeting at the greenway and either going for a 50 minute walk together or sitting on a blanket outdoors. This is obviously depedent on the weather. If it doesn't look like the weather is safe, we have the option of meeting online or rescheduling the session.

What is your availability? I see clients Tuesdays-Fridays from 9am-5pm CT.

How do I know if we'll be a good fit? Fit is incredibly important in working with a therapist. A good fit is someone you feel like you can open up to, feel safe with, and someone you trust is competent to teach you the skills or guide you through the experiences to reach your goals. I recommended choosing someone that feels confident working with the particular goals you have for your growth! I personally work well with LGBTQ+ folx, complex trauma, and relational conflict.

How long do sessions last? Sessions last for 50 minutes.

Do you take insurance? The short answer is, no. I am an out of network provider. Insurance companies often put limits on how I can serve you and for how long. They require me to diagnose you, and this becomes part of your health record. If using your health insurance is important to you, I can offer you a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement!

What is your fee? My fee is $165 for a 50 minute individual session.

Do you have a sliiding scale? Yes! I hold 5 spots on my caseload at all times for those that are not able to afford the full fee. I completely understand this and have been in this position myself in the past. Pleast let me know if you are in need of this. These spots are based on income and require re-applying every 6 months. Open Path is another great resource for those that need a sliding scale fee! I'd encourage you to check out their website and apply.

How long does therapy take? This has everything to do with how open and engaged you are in the process, what you are struggling with, and how much you practice changing your wiring between sessions. The good news is, I have seen people radically change their lives through this process. But it is a process. You can't rush it.
